As the enthusiastic reception for the iPhone 5C showed, mobile users are increasingly looking to personalize their high-powered handsets with a bit of style. Responding to the trend, Asus has just taken the wraps off a set of new Android-powered smartphones that do just that by offering a wide range of colorful options.
The ZenFone comes in Cherry Red, Sky Blue, Solar Yellow, Charcoal Black and Pearl White and runs on an what the company calls the ZenUI.
Comprised of a significantly simplified interface on top of Android 4.3, the ZenUI is also color coordinated to match the coloring of the device's exterior. Users of the ZenUI will also be able to use a free messaging client on the Omlet Open Messaging Platform.
Offered in 4-, 5- and 6-inch models, the ZenFones run on the Intel Atom Z2580 processor, feature up to 1GB of RAM and can upgraded to 64GB of storage via micro SD card. Each phone also comes with a front and rear-facing camera, with the highest capacity coming on the ZenFone 6 at 13-megapixels for the rear camera and 2-megapixels for the front camera.
Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
